LessonsIn a bridge lesson online we were asked what were the three most important things to remember when playing the hand. We got the first two but were stuck on the third. Teacher gave us a clue: teacher: HINT this is good advice for both Bridge AND dating will: hold your cards close to your chest? Apparently the correct answer was : "toss your losers". In another lesson we were practicing bidding. It looked like partner and I might be on for the Big One (7 No Trumps) but I due to our bidding sequence I didn't know how to check for aces to find out. In desperation I bid 4NT, got the necessary information and landed us in the correct contract of 6NT. Post-bidding analysis was rather scathing though: teacher: 4NT is NEVER EVER Blackwood in that sequence will: it was an emergency bid teacher: there is no answer to that lol Later: teacher: will's bid was ambiguous will: true, it could have been made with either hand teacher: ??? |
