The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

The Royal Tenenbaums Voted the best film of 2001, this is a tale of the strange Tenenbaum family with three gifted children whose parents separate when they are young. Years later when the children are grown-up, the father Royal (Gene Hackman), returns to make amends.

The Bridge interest occurs about a quarter of an hour into the film when the narrator states that the mother Etheline (Anjelica Huston) taught a Bridge class twice a week with her friend and business partner Henry Sherman.

A few minutes later there is a scene with a Bridge class taking place in Etheline's home which is unfortunately interrupted by the return of her son, Chas (Ben Stiller). You get to see players at four tables but sadly no bids or play.

Summary

Bridge relevance
Not much Bridge here, but the frisson of imagining being Anjelica Huston's partner makes it worth watching.
